Have you ever checked your spam folder and found an email that was super important, but for whatever reason your email provider flagged it as spam? It’s quite frustrating to say the least, but today I’m going to show you how to make sure that never happens to the wedding tips we are sending your way! I’ll cover the big three providers gmail, outlook, and apples mail application.
But first, what exactly is whitelisting and what does that mean for you? The term whitelisting simply means that you approve that the sender of these emails is trusted and the emails are safe, and therefore won’t be sent to spam automatically. It’s the best way to ensure that you get your emails promptly and not have to worry about important emails getting flagged by your application as spam or junk.
Alright, now that we understand what it is, let’s dive in on how to set it up for your account so that you never miss a wedding tip or special offer from us!
To whitelist an email address inside of Gmail, simply follow these steps:
Click the gear icon in Gmail and select “See all settings” from the Quick settings menu.
Navigate to “Filters and Blocked Addresses” in the top menu.
Select “Create a new filter.”
Add a specific email or a whole domain in the “From” field.
Click “Create filter.”
Check “Never send it to Spam” in the checkbox.
Click “Create filter.”
Here’s the steps for Outlook
Click the gear icon in Outlook and select “View all Outlook settings.”
Select “Mail” from the settings menu.
Choose “Junk email” from the submenu.
Click “Add” under “Safe senders and domains.”
Enter the email address that you want whitelisted.
Choose “Save.”
And then for Mail:
Open your Mail app and go to the Mailboxes screen.
Select the Junk folder.
Find the email you want to whitelist and swipe left to see options.
Tap the More button.
Tap the Mark button.
Tap the Mark as Not Junk button.
If your mail provider was not listed above copy this and paste in your search engine for your specific mail application – Whitelist an email in {email app name}.
